Just Wait, Mama

I got the postive pregnancy test, and then suddenly the excitement calmed and I heard just wait.  Just wait until the baby gets here.  Just wait until you lose your sleep.  Just wait until she's mobile.  Just wait until you have no time.  Most of the time, it was mothers remembering what they weren't prepared for.  But somewhere along the way, I started wondering:  Why does "just wait" almost always have to be a warning? Because after becoming a mom, I've discovered there are so many things worth waiting for.  Just wait until she smiles at you.  Not the sleepy newborn smile that everyone thinks is just gas.  The real one.  The one where she looks at you and her whole face changes.  Nobody warned me about that.  Just wait until she starts looking for you.  One day, you'll notice her eyes following you as you walk across the room.  You'll hear someone else holding her say, "She's looking for Mom."  And theres...
