About Just Wait, Mama
Motherhood comes with a lot of “just waits.”
Just wait until the baby gets here.
Just wait until you’re running on no sleep.
Just wait until she’s mobile.
Just wait until the toddler years.
Just wait until you have no time for yourself.
Somewhere along the way, I started wondering:
Why does “just wait” almost always have to be a warning?
Because after becoming a mom, I realized there are so many things worth waiting for, too.
Just wait until you see that first real smile.
Just wait until she reaches for you.
Just wait until you hear the belly laugh that makes you laugh just as hard.
Just wait until her little personality starts showing up more and more every day.
Just wait until an ordinary moment suddenly becomes one you wish you could keep forever.
That’s what Just Wait, Mama is about.
A different kind of “just wait”
This isn’t a place where we pretend motherhood is easy.
There are hard days. Exhausting days. Days when you question what you’re doing and days when bedtime can’t come soon enough.
But motherhood being hard doesn’t mean we have to spend every stage afraid of the next one.
I created Just Wait, Mama to make a little more room for the other side of motherhood. The funny parts. The sweet parts. The things no one prepares you for in the best possible way.
The moments that make you think, I wish someone had told me to look forward to this.
What you’ll find here
You’ll find honest stories about motherhood, the things I wish someone had told me, the little moments I never want to forget, and plenty of good “just waits.”
I’m not here as a parenting expert, and I definitely don’t have motherhood figured out.
I’m just a mom experiencing it right alongside you.
Some things I share will be sentimental. Some will be practical. Some will probably make you laugh. And some might simply remind you to notice something good in the middle of an ordinary day.
Above all, I hope this is a place that makes motherhood feel a little less like something you need to brace yourself for and a little more like something you get to look forward to.
So if you’ve heard one too many warnings about what comes next, you’re in the right place.
Just wait, Mama.
There is so much good coming.
Because not every “just wait” has to be a warning.
